SaveSync pricing is designed to be transparent from the first line. The Free tier is permanent — no trial period, no credit card required, no artificial save cap. Pro unlocks the features that matter once your vault grows large enough to need AI search, full-page archiving, and folder sharing. Lifetime exists because a meaningful number of people genuinely prefer to pay once rather than subscribe.

What you unlock with Pro

The Free tier covers everyday saving. Pro unlocks the features that become necessary once your vault grows past a few hundred links.

• Semantic AI search — vector-based search across the full text of every saved page, not just title and URL matching. Finds the article you saved about "rate limiting" even when you search for "slowing down API requests." Full breakdown in find-anything.
• Full-page archive — saves a complete HTML snapshot of every page at the moment you bookmark it. When the original goes offline or behind a paywall, your saved copy stays readable. Includes highlight and margin note support. Full breakdown in archive-and-highlight.
• Folder sharing and collaboration — share any folder with teammates or collaborators with view-only or contribute permissions. Real-time updates via Supabase Realtime. Full breakdown in share-a-folder-pro.
• Cross-device sync priority — Free accounts sync on a 30-second polling interval. Pro accounts use Supabase Realtime subscriptions for sub-2-second sync across all devices.
• Smart folders — folders with automatic tag rules (for example, "everything tagged #reading older than 14 days") that self-populate without manual sorting.
• Unlimited archive storage — Free accounts can archive up to 50 pages. Pro is unlimited.
• Bulk import — import thousands of bookmarks from Pocket, Raindrop, Chrome, Firefox, or your social platform archives. Every link gets auto-enriched on import.
• Priority support — direct email channel with a 24-hour response commitment.

Why annual saves 40%

The Pro annual plan is priced at a 40% discount versus paying month-to-month during the launch window. The reason is practical: a committed annual subscriber reduces payment processing overhead, reduces churn-related support costs, and gives us predictable revenue to invest in infrastructure — specifically the pgvector search index and the Supabase Realtime channels that power sub-2-second sync.

We pass most of that operational saving directly to you. If you are unsure whether Pro is the right fit, start on the monthly plan. The 14-day refund policy means you can evaluate the full Pro feature set with no financial risk before committing to a year.

Why Lifetime is limited to 500 licenses

The Lifetime plan is €50 as a one-time payment. It includes everything in Pro with no recurring charge, no renewal, and no price changes ever.

The 500-license cap is real arithmetic. Lifetime buyers receive Pro features indefinitely but generate no recurring revenue. Beyond 500 Lifetime accounts, the ratio of Lifetime to subscription holders would compress operating margin below what we need to maintain the infrastructure those Lifetime users depend on. When the 500 licenses are sold, the Lifetime option closes permanently — it does not reopen. If you are considering Lifetime and the option is still available, that is genuine scarcity, not a marketing countdown.

FAQ

What is the difference between Pro monthly and Pro annual?

Both plans give you exactly the same Pro features. The only difference is billing frequency and price. Monthly is €3.50/month, billed each month. Annual is €25/year during the launch discount (normally €42), billed once per year. Annual works out to roughly €2.08/month during the launch window. If you are confident you want Pro long-term, annual is the better value. You can switch from monthly to annual at any time in your account settings.

What is included in the Free tier?

Free includes unlimited saves, the browser extension, the mobile app share-sheet integration, basic keyword search, 50 archived pages, and access to your vault from any browser. There is no save cap, no time limit, and no credit card required to start.

What is the refund policy?

SaveSync offers a 14-day no-questions-asked refund on Pro monthly, Pro annual, and Lifetime purchases. If you upgrade and decide within 14 days that Pro is not the right fit, email support and your payment is refunded in full. After 14 days, subscriptions are not prorated — cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. Lifetime purchases are non-refundable after the 14-day window.

Do you offer a student discount?

Yes. Students with a valid .edu email address receive 50% off Pro annual — making it €12.50/year during the launch window. Send your .edu address to founder@savesync.org and the discount code is issued within one business day. The discount applies to the first year; subsequent renewals revert to the standard annual price unless renewed while still enrolled.

Do open-source maintainers get free Pro?

Yes. If you maintain an open-source project with 100+ GitHub stars, you qualify for a free Pro account as long as the project remains publicly maintained. Email founder@savesync.org with a link to your repository. We review once per year — if the project is archived or removed, the Pro grant lapses at the next review cycle.

How does team billing work?

Team billing is per-seat: each team member needs their own Pro subscription. There is no team discount tier yet, but centralized invoicing for five or more seats is available on request — email support and we can arrange a single invoice per billing period while the self-serve team billing UI ships in Q3.

What happens if I downgrade from Pro to Free?

Your data stays. Every bookmark, archive, annotation, and folder you created on Pro remains in your vault. The Pro-only features deactivate: semantic search returns to keyword-only mode, archived pages remain accessible but no new archives are created, shared folders switch to read-only for all collaborators, and sync reverts to the 30-second polling interval. Smart folder rules are saved but not evaluated until you re-activate Pro.

Can I export all my data if I leave SaveSync?

Yes, at any time, from any tier. Your account settings include a full data export: CSV for spreadsheets, JSON for scripts and migration tools, and a ZIP archive containing all saved HTML snapshots from full-page archives. Export generates in the background and you receive a download link by email when it is ready. Export is not gated on Pro — Free users have the same export rights as Pro users.
