WHY I BUILT
SAVESYNC.

[FOUNDER_NAME]

Creator of SaveSync

It started with a folder called “Read Later” that had 2,000 links in it. YouTube videos I swore I’d watch. GitHub repos I needed for a project that finished six months ago. Reddit threads with advice I couldn’t find when I actually needed it. Browser bookmarks scattered across three browsers and two devices, with no way to search any of them by what they were actually about.

I tried every bookmark manager on the market. Some were beautiful but wanted me to manually tag every link. Some had great search but sold my browsing data to advertisers. Some were open-source but required self-hosting a database. None of them understood a simple truth: the internet is already organised by platform. When you save a YouTube video, you know it’s a YouTube video. When you save a GitHub repo, you know it’s code. Why should a bookmark manager make you explain that?

So I built SaveSync. Every link you save is automatically identified by its source platform — YouTube, Twitter, GitHub, Reddit, Instagram, LinkedIn, and more. No manual tagging. No folder sorting. Just paste a link (or click the browser extension), and it lands in the right place with full metadata: title, thumbnail, author, and description, all extracted automatically.

Then I added the thing I really wanted: AI-powered search. Not keyword matching on URLs — actual semantic understanding. You can ask SaveSync “that article about React performance from last month” or “the YouTube video about Bauhaus design” and it finds exactly what you mean. It searches what you saved, not just how the URL was written.

Privacy was non-negotiable from day one. I built SaveSync because I was frustrated that the tools I trusted with my browsing history were monetising it. SaveSync will never sell your data. We don’t run ads. We don’t track your browsing. Your saved links are yours — encrypted in transit, protected by row-level security in the database, and exportable at any time. We are fully GDPR and CCPA compliant, not because we have to be, but because it’s the right way to build software that handles personal data.

The Lifetime plan exists because I believe in it. Paying once and owning your tools forever is how software should work for individuals. It’s my commitment that SaveSync is built to last — not to extract maximum subscription revenue, but to be genuinely useful for years. Every Lifetime buyer is betting on me, and I take that seriously.

SaveSync is an independent project. No venture capital. No growth-at-all-costs pressure. Just a developer who lost too many bookmarks and decided to fix the problem properly. If that resonates with you, I’d love for you to try it.
