Can I export my data?

Pro users can export every saved link as CSV or JSON from the dashboard at any time. The export includes each bookmark's URL, title, description, thumbnail URL, source platform, folder, tags, and the date you saved it. Both formats open in standard tools — CSV in Excel, Numbers, or Google Sheets; JSON in any text editor or import script. Free-tier users can still view, edit, and manually copy individual saves, but bulk export is reserved for paid plans. Your data is never locked in: if you ever stop using SaveSync, a one-click export gives you a clean, portable archive you can take anywhere — back into Raindrop, or into any self-hosted alternative. Data ownership is a first-class principle — you export in seconds, no email request, no waiting period.

What happens if I cancel my Pro subscription?

Your account reverts to the Free plan at the end of your current billing period. All your saved bookmarks, folders, and tags remain intact — you never lose data, ever. What changes is access to Pro-only features: real-time multi-device sync drops to delayed sync, shared collections become view-only, full-page archiving stops running on new saves (existing archives remain), and CSV/JSON export is disabled. You can still view, search (with the free tier's 20 AI credits/month), import, and edit everything you already saved. If you cancel mid-subscription, there is no refund on the remaining period, but your Pro access continues through the end of the billing cycle. Resubscribing later picks up where you left off — your data, tags, and folder structure are all waiting.

Is SaveSync really private?

Yes, and we can be specific. No data is sold or shared with third parties. No analytics SDK, no tracking pixels, no advertising network. All connections are encrypted via HTTPS. Authentication uses magic links (emailed to you via Resend) and Google OAuth — no passwords are ever stored in the database. Every database row is protected by row-level security, so even in the unlikely event of a breach, a user's session can only read their own bookmarks. The entire stack is EU-hosted on Supabase (AWS eu-west-1, Ireland), and SaveSync is GDPR and CCPA compliant by design, not retrofit. We do not use your saved content to train AI models. Who builds SaveSync?

SaveSync is built by Swaroop Kumar Palai, an independent developer who got tired of losing 2,000 bookmarks to three different browsers and a Pocket export he couldn't find when he needed it. SaveSync is bootstrapped — no venture capital, no investor pressure, no growth-at-all-costs mandate. The operation is small, based in Europe, and handles development, support, and infrastructure directly. Founder contact is available at support@savesync.org. Being an independent project means decisions are made by people who actually use the product, not by a committee optimising for a subscription retention metric. The Lifetime plan exists specifically because it aligns the product's long-term quality with what users actually want: a tool that lasts.

Can I use SaveSync for my team?

Yes. Pro plans include shared and collaborative folders. Create a folder, share it with any teammate by email (they do not need a paid plan to view), and everyone with access sees saves in real time as they're added. Collaborators can either view the folder read-only or be given contribute-level access that lets them save their own links into it. Comments, tags, and metadata are all synced. This works well for research teams collecting sources, marketing teams sharing inspiration, engineering teams curating documentation, or anyone who needs a shared reference library. There is no seat fee on top of the owner's plan — if you're Pro, you can share with anyone at no extra cost. Enterprise features like SSO, audit logs, and centralised billing are on the roadmap.
